Infinite Atonement

The greatest Gift came on the days before the first Easter.
These Ideas came from Ch. 6 of "Believing Christ" by Stephen E Robinson.

    1
Am I too worldly to look above,
too proud to accept infinite love?
Intent on controlling my riches of Rome,
not letting Christ my weakness o'ercome.
"For me!" I cry, "He died to save me."
Am I too proud to accept His fee?

    2
    Only Christ was pure enough;
    only his charity, love enough.
He was earth's only perfect mortal.
Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel.
Though Our Savior was born Mary's son,
this earth's beauty was his divine creation.

    3
He came here to suffer for us all.
Without Christ we are Satan's angels,
    helpless, unable to be saved,
    imperfect, blemished, yet blessed;
    infinite, and unmeasurable,
    atonement, our Savior's love able.

    4
His heart loved us enough to save us.
    No one understands another's fuss,
or feels the heavy pain of their sins.
When honest they'll see their own toxin,
and feel their own weakness, their life,
not mine, nor your's, or even a wife's.

5
Though sinless, our Savior understands,
He suffered the same painful wastelands.
He knows of the pulls of temptation,
and our awful pain for what we've done.
He knows, more than us, our darkest stain
He bled and died for all the world's pain

6
The Lamb of God being the Christ
but human, was perfect sacrifice
He can save me if I'm on his team.
only Jesus was that pure and clean,
He has power to be my Savior,
He can intercede with my Father.

7
The Father who had to let Christ moan,
loving us enough to bleed alone.
To tread Gethsemane's wine press dark,
crying out when alone he embarked
His love's unmeasurable torment,
for us the infinite atonement.

Merry
Christmas
