A Weekend and Mason

    1
    Remembering
    weekend events
    A fall down the stairs
    Vivian bent

    2
    Backboard precautions
    A score of EMs
    follow flashing lights;
    emergency rooms

    3
    Then a sigh, relief
    no broken bones
    careful slow moans
    pain needs healing

    4
    Afternoon anguish
    truck repair conflict
    angry words exchanged
    over inspection.

    5
    Then Sunday's contrast
    a happy phone call
    "birth's an hour away."
    spouse wants strength tall.

    6
    Can she even go
    After stair’ fall girth?
    of course, she says
    This is Mason's birth.

    7
    Off to the home birth.
    at Erin's bark
    Vivian and Leah
    enter while I park.

    8
    "He is almost here"
    I hear the father
    As he looks from behind
    Louisa's mother

    9
    Mom to be, in labor
    her father holding;The
    midwife grandma
    on the floor helping.

    10
    Eight contractions
    and from God’s presence
    I can see him.
    Mason is here with us

    11
    He was stubborn.
He did not want to breath
    hear us, we coach him
    Finally he breaths

    12
    "Why worry," says he
    "I don't need to hurry
    I just came from God;
    a minute's a mem’ry.

    13
    Then I held him,
    downstairs after
    for Grandma to hold
    as I got a picture.

    14
    Vivian and I
    smiles employ.
    The weekend
    ended with joy
