- Andy, a boy's name for a girl dog.
- Andy, part Australian blue healer;
- "Aussie" is what it originally was.
- This Dog, who thinks it's people
- is lovable and submissive
- with her sad brown begging eyes
- and a chin upon a knee
- no, she is obnoxious and hyper.
- She barks and even nips at
- strangers who enter her territory.
- When we laugh and play
- she barks and grabs pant legs

- Vivian and Tim have a water bed;
- no! They sleep in Andy's bed.
- The second a parent leaves or
- the door is open she sneaks in.
- If one of the pillows
- is empty that is her spot.
- A stern “out” will make her leave
- but unless the door is latched
- she comes right back in.
- Shutting it is not enough
- unlatched she just pushes it open
- and comes in anyway.

- She loves to go for walks.
- On the other hand it is never a walk..
- how can a 40 pound dog
- pull on a leash enough
- to force a 200 pound man
- to run with her.
- We must all admit
- we love her dearly.
- She must steal from our cats
- some of their nine lives.
- We had a traffic fine levied
- on us at one time.

- Another memory is of
- Andy's seemingly lifeless form
- in the middle of the street
- our pet lay with her life blood
- draining from her mouth.
- After laying her body on the lawn.
- She slowly regained consciousness.
- I still knew she would not last,
- Next morning a sore Ozzie
- was playing with us again.

She has the beautiful lines
of a miniature collie with
the classic feathers at the rear
and the mane around her neck
but her color is the worst
concoction of long hared splotchy
gray you can possibly imagine.
When punished she can be
so repentant looking up at you
with those sad brown eyes.
You know she won't change.
Is she really human after all?

Putting socks on
while getting dressed
means you want to play
a game of sock tug of war
her nose is right there.
Have you ever tried to put on
socks with jaws grabbing.
Of course you do have
the demanded option
of grabbing the one end
and tugging away as she
growlingly pulls the other end

We either had to pay a fine
and keep her of the street
or they would destroy her
I could see no way around it.
We could not always keep her
in the house. And I could not
afford to fence in the yard.
That night I had a dream.
The solution came.
The dream was the solution.
family prayer has such power.

Camella simply said, “I prayed. ”
