Totaled
a wreck

    1
    Vivian to work.
    Simple
    Only 15 minutes
    Not!!!
    In the hospital.
    4 months
    Will pass before
    She works.

    4
    Vivian was not
    Lucky
    Except to be
    Alive
    Five hour surgery
    on hip;
    under the chin
    stitches.

    7
    awake in the night
    Terror
    The nightmare repeats
    Crunch
    The sudden stop
    No breath
    “I can't breath”
    Pain - - - - - -

    10
    True to past form,
    Pity
    Controls Tim's thoughts
    Stupid.
    Why must Tim
    rehash
    fantasies, not living in
    the now.

    13
    Will make Tim
    himself
    As well as others,
    Loved ones
    Who care about Tim's
    Poor me
    Trips of self pity
    victims

    2
    On the Freeway
    “Tim!”
    A red pickup's rear
    Splat
    Words, “I can't breath”
    Blood
    “Viv, are you okay”
    Silence

    5
    Yes, Tim is okay
    In Pain
    Eyebrow, little finger
    Scalped
    but no breaks.
    Bruises,
    But no stitches
    Just hurt

    8
    “Vivian I want
    to Help?”
    The little blue car;
    Totaled.
    Mechanical friend
    is lost.
    People are still alive.
    Grateful?

    11
    Must Tim live to
    thrash
    the mind with
    Shame
    Not able to in God
    Trust
    to again make himself
    At fault.

    14
    A positive note;
    in pain,
    self-pity, and all;
    Tim
    through grace is still
    sober.
    As he lets go and
    Lets God.

I am restrained
Sirens
She screams in pain
“My hip”
Not the old injury?
Thoughts
Her ambulance
Leaves first

6
Tim feels unreal
Guilt
Since he was the driver.
Relive it.
The mental image
The truck;
The red rear end;
“Oh NO!”

9
“Can we just count
Blessings?”
Can we see How
Right then
We were protected
Enough
To do whatever
God wants?

12
The biggest bully
Don fears
Is really himself
Mistakes
That are dwelt on
Again
Over and over and
over
